Set up alert channels

Alert channels receive notifications when a monitor goes down or recovers. Stector supports email and Slack. An alert policy determines which channels are active — monitors reference a policy to decide who gets notified.

Add an email channel

1. Navigate to /dashboard/settings/notifications.
2. In the Email channels section, click Add email channel.
3. Fill in the form and click Add channel.
4. Your new channel appears in the Email channels list.

Connect Slack

1. From the Notifications page, find the Slack section.
2. Click Connect to Slack.
3. Approve the workspace access in Slack.
4. Your connected workspace and channel appear in the Slack section.

Configure your alert policy

Navigate to /dashboard/settings/notifications/policy. The alert policy selects which channels are active for alerts — this is the set of channels that get notified when a monitor's status changes. Monitors reference a policy through their Notification policy field; a monitor with no policy set sends no alerts.
